Business Development Representative (BDR)

Drive new business through outbound prospecting and pipeline generation. Engage decision makers and create high quality opportunities.

Overview

Job Description

This is a full-time remote role based in the UK for a Business Development Representative, focused exclusively on new business acquisition. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, targeting, and securing new clients, building a strong and sustainable sales pipeline, and driving revenue growth.

The role requires a proactive and strategic approach to lead generation, including outbound prospecting, networking, and developing new opportunities within target markets. You will engage with key decision-makers, understand client challenges, and effectively position Robinscroft’s technology and service offerings to meet their needs.

A strong understanding of the IT industry is essential, enabling you to confidently articulate solutions across areas such as infrastructure, devices, data protection and cybersecurity.

This role suits a motivated self-starter with a proven track record in new business sales, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is driven by achieving and exceeding targets.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Business Development Representative (BDR), Sales Development Representative (SDR), or similar outbound new business role within the IT, technology, or managed services sector
  • Demonstrated success in outbound prospecting, including cold calling, email outreach, and LinkedIn engagement, with a track record of consistently meeting or exceeding activity and meeting-setting targets
  • Strong understanding of IT solutions (e.g. infrastructure, devices, cybersecurity, or managed services), with the ability to confidently introduce and position services to prospective clients
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build credibility with senior decision-makers
  • Resilient and target-driven mindset, comfortable working in a high-activity, results-focused environment
  • Highly self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently in a remote setting
  • Strong research skills with the ability to identify and qualify potential opportunities within target markets
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce) to manage outreach activity, track leads, and maintain accurate records
  • A degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is desirable, but not essential - relevant experience and a strong track record in outbound sales are valued more highly
