Job Description

We are looking for a highly capable Technical Solutions Architect to join Robinscroft, playing a key role across both internal operations and client-facing engagements.

This is a dual-role position combining internal IT ownership with external consultancy and pre-sales support. You will work closely with the sales team to design and position solutions, while also supporting and improving Robinscroft’s internal systems and technical capability.

The role requires a strong technical background across infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and modern workplace, alongside the ability to engage with clients, understand their environments, and design commercially viable solutions.

You will also contribute to revenue by delivering billable consultancy, supporting project scoping, and helping convert opportunities into high-value solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical lead in pre-sales engagements, supporting Account Executives in shaping and closing opportunities
  • Design and architect solutions across cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, and modern workplace
  • Lead technical discovery sessions with clients to understand environments and requirements
  • Translate client needs into clear, scalable, and commercially viable solutions
  • Support the positioning and delivery of CyberProtect as a core service
  • Contribute to proposals, technical documentation, and solution design
  • Deliver billable consultancy services to clients where required
  • Support project scoping, planning, and handover to delivery teams
  • Take ownership of internal IT systems, tooling, and technical standards
  • Continuously improve internal processes, architecture, and technical capability

Delivering billable technical consultancy

Advising clients on infrastructure, security, and workplace strategy

Managing and improving internal systems

Ensuring Robinscroft operates efficiently and securely

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant, or similar role within the IT or managed services sector
  • Strong technical knowledge across infrastructure, cloud (Azure/Microsoft 365), cybersecurity, and modern workplace
  • Experience designing and delivering complex IT solutions
  • Ability to lead technical discovery sessions and translate requirements into solutions
  • Strong understanding of backup, recovery, and security principles
  • Experience supporting pre-sales and working alongside sales teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Commercial awareness and ability to align solutions to business outcomes
  • Experience delivering consultancy or billable technical work is highly advantageous
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a remote environment
  • A degree in a relevant technical field is desirable, but not essential, experience and capability are valued more highly
